I am in France (not French) but none of the younger people I talk to want to go to war. All of them have had elderly relatives who were lost and ruined by war.

My own Grandfather went through 2 World Wars after which he became an ardent Socialist. He loathed and detested Churchill for not stopping when he could have done.

thanks for sharing this fellows post... the problem is ideological conformity which is subtly enforced... you aren't allowed to speak out against the insanity of all this or that is only serves the interests of the bankers and war industry... that is considered off bounds and there is a certain fated quality to this repeat of events here.. this fellow is awake, but i am not sure how many others are.. meanwhile friedrich merz is working hard for the bankers to maintain the drive towards war, or profit from war... democracy is indeed a sham, pushed onto us by the elite class.. it is ultimately a class war and we are losing..

Every morning, for the last couple of months, I have read a gravestone inscription from a book, ‘Epitaphs of the Great War’ that I keep on my bedside table. Then I look on the internet to read a little more about the brief lives of these young men - most aged between 17 and 30. I look at their fresh faced photographs and say their names aloud before moving on with my day. Incredibly we continue to repeat the crime of sending our young to die horribly in stupid, pointless wars. At school I studied the poems of Wilfred Owen, Siegfried Sassoon and Isaac Rosenberg, and though saddened and moved, I felt confident we had learned our lesson. But, of course, we had not. It’s terrible and terrifying to witness what is happening again and again and again while knowing we can do nothing to stop any of it…

Very good and emotive. This are the kind of articles that should have diffusion, because they "touch the soul". If propaganda acts, in part, trough emotion; counter-propaganda should do the same. This kind are more effective than other types of articles based on explanation.

Thank you, Thomas. Sadly, there is actually not much that can be said. I wish that the peace movement becomes strong!
