Thanks Thomas - a superb analysis.

It will be, without doubt, an uphill battle for Bhattacharya and Makary to make substantive changes to the standard operating procedures of the NIH. And the reasons for this you have clearly referenced.

I guess one hope remains - that out of the seeming chaos of a Trump administration, some pieces may fall into place that result in an improvement, however slight, to the appalling practices of public health institutions of decades past.

Just nitpicking: Dr Fauci ran the NIAID for almost 40 years (not 20, as you wrote in the 3rd paragraph). He started working there in 1968 and became director in -84. He has also been medical advisor to every president since Reagan. His power and influence could hardly be overestimated.

I'm no economist, nor a Millei defender, but he has managed to balance the budget and curb inflation rates, which is what one should aim for, at least in the long term. Inflation is always worst for those already struggling. Whether Millei's shock policies will start to pay off any time soon, is another matter.

The integrity of NIH and FDA depends on strong HHS leadership.

Pathogenic viruses do not exist!

Criticizing "Covid policies" implicates accepting that Covid was a novel disease which is a geostrategic deception. SarsCov2 virus was never isolated, as was no other, no vax has ever prevented or cured any disease. Vax is one of the causes of the health crisis.

Very good article and I had never heard of this chap Curtis Yarvin, but I will look into him further. I think we have to be highly suspect of anything at all with Thiel's fingerprints on it. There is something very sinister and unsettling about him. How he can proclaim to be a libertarian is anyone's guess. Surely just a ruse designed to disguise his corporatist, technocratic ideology and his sinister game plan.

This is what makes me suspicious of Vance also, despite saying the right thing most of the time.

And I don't think libertarians embrace Trump as claimed in the article, but recognize him as the lesser of 2 evils. At least he may take the world away from WW3 and the utter devastation which the neocons in the Democratic party are intent on pursuing. Even if Trump is motivated by self interest because it is good for America. Indeed it is because Trump pursues policies that are good for the US (ie self interested policies), that he is to be preferred to the ideologues who want to perfect man, and spread their ideas on the entire world, by force, including propaganda and control, if necessary. But of course they are doing this for the good of humanity!

We don't expect miracles from Trump but avoiding armageddon and getting back to some normality and human decency will be a very good start.

That Yarvin quote is horrifying even by his standards. Great analysis as always Thomas!
