While direct analogies are impossible -- every such situation has its own national characteristics -- I think perhaps we can be guardedly optimistic because a similar effort in Belarus a few years ago ultimately did not succeed. The Color Revolution® playbook is now understood, people know how it works, it is increasingly less successful, although there may still be times when it works, such as recently in (apparently) Bangladesh. Georgian PM Kobakhidze seems very on the ball.
Again an important historic statement/analysis, therefore an essential historic document for the reception of these develepments by historians in the future.
Thank you!
These events, and similiar ones all over the world, are raising fundamental questions about the validity and efficacy of democratic processes in general. For a multitude of reasons.
You start to ask yourself what exactly democracy is, should be or can be at all.
In this context it certainly is worth the effort to dive very deep into the history and ties of the „Albrecht“-family (heritage of Ursula von der Leyen) and the „von der Leyen“-family (especially in the IUkraine) and the actual ties, like the role of von der Leyens husband in the biotech-industry (Orgenesis).
It is a rabbit hole. The investigation on that alone is worth an article or even a book by itself.
E.g. the Albrecht-family has been part of the so-called „hübsche Familien“, which has been some kind of administrative nobility in Germany for several hundreds of years.
And it certainly still has that feeling to it, doesn“t it?
I wonder that Russia and China are not speeding up their military cooperation so they come to each other´s aid in the event of a direct (or an indirect) attack against one of the countries. Exactly like Nato´s 5 th Musketeers. A military cooperation can be strategic like the alliance between Russia and Iran and does not necessarily have to involve a political or an economical cooperation.
It can not be so difficult to recognize /predict that Nato is opening a second front in Georgia against Russia and probably a third front around Russia, starting from Belarus for example, of course assuming they can overthrow "Europe´s last dictator" Lukashenko. This may mean that Syria, as there are already trends towards, will be left to the US and Turkey supported terrorists and become a Libya ll.
And China should know very well what lies ahead. If the US, EU and their Nazi tool in Kiev win in Ukraine, which can not be ruled out, Putin falls and Russia becomes a western commodity colony, as it was on its way to in the 1990s, Russia will not come to China´s military rescue. And China will undoubtedly end up as another western colony.
Thanks Thomas… Spot on again… That awful EU puppet president refusing to step down (like Zelensky) although her time is up is blatantly undemocratic. My only comfort is the belief that the West is in a downward spiral that nothing can stop. People won’t want to jump on a sinking ship fragmenting before their very eyes…
same as Ukraine. But the governments of countries are important to their neighbours as well as their citizens. People in the US still vote for Biden even though he's such a crook. Just because they live there doesn't mean they know what's really going on and Soros cartel is probably paying protestors as well.
I also read or maybe saw it on the Duran that the EU was going to be financing Georgia for investment in infrastructure to bring the country to an acceptable standard before joining the EU. Now they're threatening to withdraw that money and give it, wait for it, to the media and NGOs. I think that's right although one needs to check but this sounds pretty much par for the course. Once more, corruption, bribery and coups. They are so practiced at it. The sad thing is most people have absolutely no idea that their countries in West Europe and UK are behaving in this absolutely abhorrent way, all to weaken Russia. And people think that Putin is dangerous and the problem! God save us. 🙏
Or are Ukrainians and Georgians deceived, or do they know more about the context and background of what is going on?
Ukrainians must know that it was an illegitimate coup that Zelensky to power, but Ukrainians and Georgians may have stubborn illusions, that they will have a better life and security if they are subject to the EU and Nato?
yeah - brainwashed....Kiev is in control of all the media - and maybe the old guard in Georgia as well...people think that the entire infrastructure might fall apart with a different government - they don't realize its us humans, not the parasites in office that build infrastructure - voting outside the box is a huge problem everywhere - Canada is a colony. We don't even get choices- they're just presented to us to vote for. Likewise England obviously. Poor Brits. What I wonder is how much the zionists are in on the problems in Georgia. Probably at the top as usual.
Brainwashed? Well, most people in the US and Europe are googling all of the time, so they can easily find alternative information. They support the terrorists in Syria and the nazis in Ukraine, however despite knowing that the terrorists are not secular rebels in Syria as described by the media and that the coup regime in Kiev is far from democratic.
And they also know that the Soviet Union never constituted a military threat to the US and Europe, only an ideological threat in the 1920th. and 30th.

how do you know if ' most people are googling blah blah blah
Do you live in either of those countries ? Most people are not googling - anyway - I don't want to communicate anymore with you. You obviously are above all the rest of us in your knowledge and insight - so take it and stuff it somewhere besides my ear.

China and Russia probably are doing just that
Go figure
I hope so too.

what would it take for you to consider that ongoing protests are at least ALSO an expression of national agency of the people living there?
How did anything I said deny "agency"? I'm sure a big part of the pro-EU fanatics out protesting would be happy to overthrow the government.

Sorry, I repeated. I looked as if my first reply had disappeared.
